Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
|
Nothing has officially introduced the Headphone (1) Pro, its most advanced over-ear headphone yet. The new wireless headphones bring a triple-driver audio system, adaptive Active Noise Cancellation, Dynamic Spatial Audio and a long-lasting battery.
The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro also keeps the brand’s transparent design language while adding machined aluminium, titanium alloy arms and upgraded Panda Glass.
Nothing Headphone (1) Pro: What’s New?
The biggest upgrade comes from the new triple-driver architecture. Each earcup combines a 40mm dynamic driver, a precision dynamic driver and a treble xMEMS driver.
Nothing says the new 40mm dynamic driver delivers 15% more bass punch and 26% higher sensitivity compared with the previous Headphone (1), based on its laboratory testing.
The precision driver focuses on vocals and articulation, while the xMEMS driver handles high-frequency details.
The headphones also support Hi-Res Audio for both wireless and wired listening. USB-C audio supports lossless playback at up to 24-bit/192kHz.
Up to 46dB Active Noise Cancellation
The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro features real-time Adaptive ANC with up to 46dB of noise cancellation, according to Nothing.
The headphones use 10 microphones as part of the noise-control system. Nothing has also added a new silicone sound seal and a two-layer cushion system to improve isolation.
The Adaptive ANC system can automatically adjust its mode based on the surrounding environment and the fit of the earcups.
Users can also switch to Transparency Mode when they want to hear their surroundings.
Nothing Headphone (1) Pro Battery Life
Battery life is another major highlight.
The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro offers up to 68 hours of playback with ANC turned off. With ANC enabled, Nothing rates the headphones for up to 30 hours of playback.
LDAC changes the figures to up to 53 hours without ANC and 28 hours with ANC.
The headphones also support fast charging. A five-minute charge can provide up to four hours of playback with ANC off, while ANC-on playback can reach up to two hours from the same five-minute charge.
Actual battery life can vary depending on volume, codec, features and usage conditions.
Metropolis Studios Tuning and Flat EQ
Nothing has partnered with Metropolis Studios to tune the Headphone (1) Pro.
The headphones include a dedicated Flat EQ mode designed for a more neutral listening profile. Nothing positions this mode for activities such as reviewing music, producing and mixing.
The Nothing X app also gives users access to advanced EQ controls. Users can adjust their sound profile and explore EQ presets from the Nothing Community.
The headphones support Dynamic Spatial Audio with head tracking. Nothing offers multiple spatial audio modes, including Balanced, Studio B, Live House, Concert Hall and Club.
Premium Design With Transparent Elements
The Headphone (1) Pro continues Nothing’s distinctive transparent design approach.
The headphones use aluminium construction, titanium alloy arms and upgraded 9H Panda Glass on the earcups.
Nothing says the new titanium alloy arms are 45% lighter than those on the Headphone (1).
Comfort also gets an upgrade. The dual-layer ear cushions are 50% softer, while the headband is 10% wider and the padding is 12% thicker compared with the previous model.
The headphones weigh 327 grams.
Familiar Nothing Controls
Nothing has kept its physical controls instead of relying entirely on touch gestures.
The roller lets users control volume and play or pause music. The paddle handles track navigation and calls, while the multifunction button can control features such as the smart assistant and camera shutter.
A new switch lets users quickly move between Flat EQ and their regular EQ settings.
The headphones also support dual-device connections, Bluetooth 6.1, Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair.
Nothing Headphone (1) Pro Price
The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is priced at $399 in the US. Nothing lists the headphones in White and Black colour options on its official website.
For India, Nothing’s official India product page currently lists the Headphone (1) Pro, while the Indian pricing and availability details may depend on the local launch information.
