PM Modi Gujarat projects 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth more than ₹35,000 crore in Gujarat. The major projects cover railway infrastructure, freight connectivity, national highways, urban development, renewable energy and water supply.
The large infrastructure push is expected to strengthen Gujarat’s transport network, improve freight movement and support connectivity between industrial, urban and rural regions.
₹35,000 Crore Gujarat Projects: Key Highlights
The projects announced for Gujarat include major investments in:
- Railway infrastructure and new rail lines
- Dedicated freight corridor connectivity

₹20,700 Crore Dedicated Freight Corridor Projects
One of the biggest components of the infrastructure package is the dedication of key sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor worth more than ₹20,700 crore.
The sections include:
- New Sanand (North) to New Makarpura
- New Umbergaon to New Saphale
- New Saphale to New JNPT
Together, these sections cover around 326 route kilometres.
The projects are expected to improve the movement of freight between industrial centres and ports, support export and import cargo transportation and help reduce pressure on existing railway routes.
New Railway Projects Worth Over ₹9,700 Crore
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for major railway infrastructure projects worth more than ₹9,700 crore.
The projects include:
- Vadodara–Ratlam third and fourth railway lines
- Miyagam Karjan–Choranda–Malsar gauge conversion
- Vishwamitri–Dabhoi doubling project
The combined projects cover approximately 329 kilometres and are aimed at increasing railway capacity and improving passenger and freight connectivity.
New Rail Connectivity for Tribal Areas
The Jobat–Tanda Road railway line, part of the Chhota Udepur–Dhar rail project, is also among the important projects being dedicated.
The project is expected to improve railway connectivity for remote and tribal areas, including parts of the Alirajpur region.
A new passenger train service between Tanda Road and Vadodara (Pratapnagar) is also part of the programme.
Gujarat Highway Projects Worth Around ₹1,780 Crore
Major national highway projects worth around ₹1,780 crore are also included in the infrastructure package.
Key projects include:
- Six-laning of the Kamrej–Chalthan section of NH-48
- Additional structures and major bridges over the Tapi and Narmada on the Vadodara–Surat NH-48 section
- Grade-separated structures at Abhava, Mindhola and Khajod junctions on NH-53
The projects are expected to improve road capacity and support smoother movement across important highway corridors.
₹2,600 Crore Gujarat Development Projects
The programme also includes Gujarat government development projects worth around ₹2,600 crore.
Major projects include:
- Vadodara Urban Development Authority Ring Road Phase II
- A 110 MW floating solar project at Kadana Dam
- A new Vadodara Municipal Corporation office
- PMAY housing projects
- Water supply projects for 11 villages in eastern Vadodara
These projects cover urban infrastructure, renewable energy, housing and essential public services.
