Rajkot News: A shocking robbery in Rajkot’s Aji GIDC industrial area left a 51-year-old jewellery firm employee dead after unidentified assailants allegedly shot him and fled with gold and silver worth an estimated ₹1.60 crore on Wednesday evening, October 14, 2026.
Police identified the victim as Lalji Sardhara, an employee of Tanvi Export India Ltd. The incident took place around 7:55 PM near the company’s factory in Rajkot, Gujarat.
What Happened in the Rajkot Jewellery Robbery?
According to police, Sardhara was carrying a consignment of precious metals on his two-wheeler when three to four unidentified men arrived in a car and attempted to rob him.
Sardhara reportedly resisted the robbery. The assailants then fired three rounds at him, took the gold and silver, and escaped in their vehicle.
A witness rushed Sardhara to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
How Much Gold and Silver Did the Suspects Steal?
Police said the stolen consignment contained approximately 900 grams of gold and 3 kilograms of silver.
